Bio
Jihan Sherman RA, LEED AP is an architect, designer and artist from Atlanta, GA. She is the Design Director of Redbanana, Inc., a design and business consultancy that she co-founded. She also serves at the Editor-in-Chief of Estelle + Boots, a design and culture publication and the Creative Director of Sitezen Apparel, a lifestyle clothing company that develops politically inspired apparel and accessories.
Jihan holds a Masters of Architecture and BS in Architecture from Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research and creative explorations examine the inter-relationships of identity, place and narrative. She previously worked with Lord Aeck Sargent’s Historic Preservation studio where she contributed to award winning projects such as the restoration of Hardman Farms in Helen, GA and the rehabilitation of the Hinman Building at Georgia Tech. She has taught design studios and workshops for more than 6 years, spanning topics exploring fundamental design principles, parametric form generation, materiality, urban form, community and place making. Additionally, she served as the curriculum coordinator of the Common First Year (CFY) in the College of Architecture for 2 years, supporting a curriculum redesign facilitating inter-disciplinary learning and a design-build project.
