Bio
Lisa Borello is a Grants Administrator in the School of Building Construction, where she specializes in grant proposals, and editing scholarly work. She has been working for the College for more than six years. She holds Departmental Certification in Sponsored Programs from Georgia Tech, and is a Certified Grant Writer from the Grant Institute. Ms. Borello has more than ten years of experience working in higher education administration and writing for several newspapers and magazines. Ms. Borello is a doctoral candidate in Sociology of Science and Technology in the School of History, Technology & Society at Georgia Tech (Ivan Allen College); her research interests concern gender, health, the body, and science/technology. Her dissertation research focuses on the social and technical dimensions of gastric banding surgery. She also does research on the participation and advancement of women in science and engineering; she currently serves as a student researcher on an NSF-funded project which examines the participation of women in chemistry, computer science and math on an international level. She holds a Master of Science degree in Sociology of Science and Technology from Georgia Tech, a Master of Arts degree in Women’s Studies from Georgia State University, and has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Women’s Studies from Penn State University.
