Bio
Dawn M Trimble joins the College of Architecture as a part-time
lecturer teaching undergraduate design studios.
She received a Bachelor of Interior Design from Auburn University's College of Architecture, Design & Construction
in 1997 and a Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of
Technology in 2004.
Her pedagogical interests reside in the critical readings of the
relationships between space and the body. She
received the SGF Prize for her Master's Project that researched this
framework and remains dedicated to pursuing
these ideas in her professional practice.
Throughout her career, Dawn has been recognized for her design talent
and leadership abilities. She is the recent
recipient of the Young Professionals Scholarship Award sponsored by the
AIA and is also a LEED accredited
professional. She has gained invaluable experience working on
residential and commercial projects in architectural
offices in the Atlanta, Georgia and Washington, DC area. Since returning
to Atlanta, Dawn has started her own
practice focusing on the creation of holistic environments through the
integration of interior and exterior space.
An advocate for diversity, Dawn is active in local organizations
within the community supporting this effort. She has
been published by the AIA and NCARB on subjects relating to mentoring
and diversifying the design profession.
