Paid Internship - Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) in Atlanta, GA

Primary tabs

Eastern Research Group, Inc. (ERG) is hiring paid summer interns to support an onsite project being conducted at the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) in Atlanta, GA. The work will involve data entry for an important environmental health investigation being conducted by ATSDR, and those we hire must have a keen eye for detail, familiarity with reviewing and interpreting environmental sampling data (preferably groundwater, air, and/or soil vapor), and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Database management skills are also very desirable.

Candidates must have a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental public health, earth and atmospheric sciences, mechanical engineering or related field. The expected start date for this position is May 15, and the end date will be before the next school year begins. Candidates must be able to work full-time for the duration of the project. Compensation will be $20/hr.

All work on this project will be conducted at the ATSDR campus, and thus, all hired employees must undergo a background check to obtain a security clearance prior to starting work. This is an excellent opportunity to see first-hand the scientific processes that ATSDR goes through when evaluating the public health implications of exposure to environmental contamination.

Employees for this project will be selected in early April, so please forward your cover letter and resume to Liz Bertelsen (Liz.Bertelsen@erg.com) no later than April 1st. Any inquiries about the project should also be sent to Ms. Bertelsen via e-mail before that date. Interviews for this position will be conducted in Atlanta on April 5th and 6th, so candidates for this position will need to be available for interviews in Atlanta on those dates. Candidates selected for interviews will also need to submit a copy of their transcripts at that time.
