Primary tabs

Congratulations to Emily Doherty!  The School of Building Construction at Georgia Tech is proud to announce that MS student, Emily Doherty, has been selected by "Possible Woman Foundation International" (PWFI) as a  "2016 Scholar and Leader of Tomorrow".

PWFI provides scholarships for the women leaders of tomorrow who pursue non-traditional roles and occupations. Ms. Doherty was nominated by the School of Building Construction and her academic advisor, for her unique background, industry knowledge, team spirit, student engagement, and positive attitude.

Prior to pursuing her master's degree, Ms. Doherty worked in outdoor events, and was responsible for the delivery of temporary infrastructures. She also worked for the London 2012 Olympics as an Overlay Project Manager for the Basketball Arena and through these experiences, knew that Construction Project Management was the direction she wanted to take her career. Doherty said, "Having the opportunity to go back to school and learn more about the industry at a Masters level was important to me in order to achieve my professional goals. It is such a dynamic industry, where there is always something new to learn and I am excited to be a part of it."

Doherty is thrilled to be recognized by the trailblazing women of PWFI. "It is an honor to be nominated for the Possible Woman Foundation Scholarship. The Masters in Building Construction program has been very rewarding,"
