Dr. Fox is a co-director for the Center for Women, Science and Technology and an ADVANCE Professor in Public Policy. She has dedicated her career to the study of gender in science and academic fields. Her research, which introduced and established this field of study, is featured in over 50 different scholarly and scientific journals, books, and collections.

Her current research projects include a study of The Transmission Zone Between Consumers and Producers of Knowledge About Women in Science and Engineering, supported by NSF as well as a study of Women Faculty in Computing Fields, funded by the Sloan Foundation.
