Ideas for participation

  • Provide a heart-healthy lunch.
  • Ask your leadership to speak about their interest in employee health.
  • Provide employees a fruit or vegetable snack. An apple, orange, clementine or small sack of mixed fruit makes a great “desk drop.”
  • Replace candy bowls with fruit bowls.
  • Create a “doughnut-free and muffin-free zone” and instead offer nonfat/low-fat yogurt or oatmeal with healthy toppings like fresh or dried fruits and unsalted nuts.

Support resources are available at the American Heart Association National Eating Healthy Day toolkit or www.heart.org/nationaleatinghealthyday.
