The Future of Manufacturing

Organized by Georgia Tech (GT) and Arts et Métiers ParisTech (AMP), this two-day workshop will enable manufacturing experts to share their experiences in research, development, innovation, commercialization, and education in the domain of advanced manufacturing. Identifying key questions and leveraging mutual strengths  are expected, to create new opportunities for joint collaborations both in the US and Europe.

Workshop topics include:

  • Smart manufacturing processes: innovative and manufacturing processes, e.g., ultra-precision machining, additive manufacturing, printed electronics, fastener-free manufacturing,… for both new and current materials
  • New materials for smart and customized products, e.g., high performance alloys, advanced composites, nanomaterials, etc
  • The robot and the human: Cobotic/virtual control
  • Friendly environmental and social factory: low energy, water and material consumption, low waste, high level of recyclability, safe and attractive workplaces.
  • Digital factory : from product to factory design, virtual reality :
  • Focus on education : Education for the factory of the Future, Master Degree and PHD. Share of experience, attractiveness, how GT and AMP can form high level collaborators adapted to industry strategy.
