Twice a year, typically in March and October, the sun, satellite, and ground-based satellite dishes will be in perfect alignment. On those days, the sun's energy will overload the satellite receiver and cause signal loss for a few minutes.This will cause brief outages of selected GTCN channels for the duration of the interference.

This year, the interference is predicted to occur from October 4th-12th from approximately 4:00pm to 5:30pm each day. Individual channels will be impacted for an average of 10 minutes after which time service should be restored. Please see below for a complete list of affected channels and approximate timings.

It is not necessary to submit a help request or notify us of channel outages during this time. If you have other issues with your cable television service, please contact us.
