“Teaching Physics to Tibetan Monks (And The Obverse): How Crazy Is It?”

In the summer of 2015, Dr. Halka visited a Tibetan Buddhist monastery in India to attempt to teach physics (and math) to the monks, through the Emory Tibet Science Initiative. This semester at Georgia Tech, she is facilitating a GT1000 course focused on mindfulness. In this talk, she will describe the difficulties inherent in these related experiences and will share perspectives on what she has learned.
