Are you interested in a career in either process control or power generation?  The Pulp and Paper Industry offers exciting avenues for electrical engineers to work in the power plants and chemical plants within their mills—making the entire operation energy self-sufficient, utilizing various controls systems.  Join us as International Paper reveals the endless opportunities for electrical engineers to implement their expertise and grow their careers.

Speaker Bios:
Brittany Robinson graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Chemical Engineering.  While at Georgia Tech she was a co-op student at the Environmental Protection Agency.  Upon graduation she went to work at the International Paper’s Savannah Mill as an Environmental Engineer.  She has held various positions in the company and is currently an EHS Audit Team Leader working for the corporate office.  Ms. Robinson is a Professional Engineer in the states of North and South Carolina.  She served on the Georgia Tech Alumni Association Board of Trustees from 2005-2008, is the 2004 Georgia Tech Outstanding Young Alumni, and 2007 Outstanding Young Engineer from the Georgia Tech School of Engineering.

Gabriela Garcia graduated from Auburn University with a dual degree in Electrical Engineering and Wireless Engineering in 2013.  Upon graduation, she joined the IP team at Savannah, GA, one of IP’s leading linerboard export mills. In less than two years at the Savannah Mill, she has received two significant promotions.  She began her career as a Process Control Engineer in the Electrical Reliability Department and was promoted to Shift Supervisor of the Finished Products department within her first 8 months.  Only 9 months later, she was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of No. 6 Paper Machine where she oversees daily production.  The possibilities within International Paper are endless and Gabby’s career is the prime example of this.
