AE's Pumpkin Contest Winners

Students brought their pumpkins ready to be judged to the Weber Courtyard on October 24 for AE's 1st Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest. Entries were judged on the basis of originality, creativity and appearance.

The team of judges: (L-R) Prof. Mitchell Walker; AE's Asst Director for Admin Ops, Susan Jackon; Prof. Julian Rimoli; AE Mech Specialist, Scott Elliott and AE's Director of Development, Farah Kashlan.

Prof. Walker, who had the idea to begin an AE tradition, i.e., the Pumpkin Carving Contest, with the entries before the results are announced.

Allison Hill, an Academic Advisor in the Aerospace Systems Design Lab (ASDL), was awarded 2nd Honorable Mention for her pumpkin.

Distance Learning student, Nivedita Ravi, who is doing an internship in Indiana, sent photos of her entry.  She was also awarded a prize for her efforts.  This series of photos shows the progression of the making of Nivedita's pumpkin.
