Jige “Steven” Quan’s research interests include ecological urban design, planning support systems (PSS) and the spatial structure of contemporary Chinese big cities.
Prior to joining the PhD program, Steven had over five years’ work experiences as a project manager and chief planner in comprehensive planning, urban design, and strategic planning projects in China. Questions raised during his experiences in the field provoked his interest in further studying ecological urban development.
Steven earned his master's degree in urban planning and bachelor's degree in architecture from Tsinghua University, China. He also received the Chinese Registered Urban Planner Certificate.
