AE Student Heidi Hatteberg Awarded Atlantic Coast Conference Postgraduate Scholarships

AE undergraduate Heidi Hatteberg is the recipient of two prestigious awards give to student-athletes by the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). She is one of three Georgia Tech students amoung 36 students in the ACC selected to receive the Weaver-James-Corrigan Award. This award is given to student-athletes who have performed with distinction both in academics and in their chosen sport, while exhibiting personal conduct considered exemplary in the community. Heidi will receive $5000 towards her graduate education that she plans on pursuing in AE at Georgia Tech.

Heidi is also one of three ACC student-athletes chosen to receive the Thacker Award.  Thacker award recipients are selected based on their outstanding performance in athletic competition and the classroom who also intend to continue their studies with postgraduate work at an ACC institution.

 Heidi is one of the most-decorated athletes in Georgia Tech’s women’s swimming program.  She will compete at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska in the 100 and 200 meter backstroke.  Her swim relay team set a Georgia Tech record at the 2012 ACC Championship.

8th in the 50-Free (23.69)

3rd in the 500-Free (4:50.77)

1st in the 100-Back (54.66)

1st in the 200-Back (1:56.98)

3rd in the 200-Free Relay (1:33.16)

2nd in the 400-Free Relay (3:21.64)
