Sit and Spin! Georgia Tech enjoys Los Trompos

Primary tabs

Georgia Tech joins with the High Museum of Art to present “Los Trompos,” a colorful, interactive design installation by contemporary Mexican designers Héctor Esrawe and Ignacio Cadena.  One of the “Spinning Tops” from this 40-piece collection is now located on the Clough Commons plaza.  Students, staff, faculty and visitors are welcome to sit and spin in it.

The High Museum is hosting the exhibition on the Carroll Slater Sifly Piazza at the Woodruff Arts Center and pieces of the collection can also be found at locations around Midtown Atlanta. “Los Trompos” draws its inspiration from the form of a spinning top, a toy popular with children around the world. The project features more than 40 three-dimensional, larger-than-life tops in a variety of colors and shapes. By working together, visitors can spin the tops on their bases as they interact with the structures.
