Climate Change and the Developing World, a Frontiers in Science Talk by Peter Webster

Primary tabs

The less-developed world faces a host of issues that can threaten human health, including rapidly growing population and urbanization, increases in pollution, resource exhaustion and a reduction of fresh water, as well as climate change. Dr. Webster will put forward a strategy of "tactical adaptation" where good practices in hazard prediction and mitigation are employed now so that societal problems can be addressed methodically in the future, permitting the maintenance stability and greater resilience.  He will present examples of successful uses of tactical adaption in Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.

There will be a reception after the talk and time for visitors to chat with Webster and each other.
