Internship: ASPPH Headquarters Summer Public Health Internship Program

Primary tabs

ASPPH is now accepting applications for the ASPPH Headquarters Summer Public Health Internship Program. The summer internship program is open to current students of ASPPH-member CEPH-accredited graduate schools and programs of public health. The internship will provide a unique experience where the selected student can apply their skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to public health projects of importance to ASPPH and our members. The deadline to apply is Thursday, March 5.

ASPPH will accept up to three summer interns to participate in projects at ASPPH headquarters in Washington, DC. The internship assignments will focus on data analytics, evaluation, and education.

“After learning in an academic environment during my first year of graduate school, I appreciated the opportunity to apply analytical skills in public health,” said Ms. Jennifer Tighe, a former ASPPH Headquarters summer intern. “Surrounded by public health professionals, I also learned from the practical aspect of working as an intern at ASPPH.”

Candidates must be current students (expected to graduate in Winter 2015, Spring 2015, or Spring 2016) of ASPPH member CEPH-accredited schools and programs of public health. In addition to specific skills required for individual internships, candidates must have strong organizational, writing, and communication skills. They must also be U.S. citizens, or hold a visa for permanent residence (i.e. “Green Card”). Candidates must be able to begin the internship in late-May or early-June 2015 and stay for a minimum of 10 weeks.

Applications must be submitted online via the ASPPH Training Programs Online Application System. Detailed application instructions, as well as detailed project descriptions, can be found on the ASPPH Internship webpage.
