Building Construction Associate Professor Roper to sit on Healthcare Institute board.

Kathy Roper, associate professor in the School of Building Construction at Georgia Tech, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the Healthcare Institute. Her two-year term began July 1 and will run through June 2016.

The Health Care Institute, which is an International Facility Management Association (IFMA) affiliate, consists of hospital administrators, facility managers, and professionals in the design and construction industry, serving academic medical centers and community hospitals, retirement facilities, and specialty hospitals and clinics. They strive to advance the skills of facility managers working in all areas of the health care field.  For information about the HCI, visit http://hci.ifma.org/.

Kathy Roper serves as director of the Master of Science program's integrated facility management track. She teaches graduate sustainable facility and property management, facility planning, project management, benchmarking, and corporate real estate.  She is an IFMA Certified Facility Manager, and in 2007 was named an IFMA Fellow, the association’s highest recognition of service and lifetime achievement in the field.
