Colatrella's Article on Gender Published by AAUP
Primary tabs
LMC Professor and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Faculty Affairs in the Ivan Allen College, Carol Colatrella is codirector of the Center for the Study of Women, Science, and Technology (WST). Her most recent book is Toys and Tools in Pink: Cultural Narratives of Gender, Science, and Technology and Technology and Humanity.
The AAUP article is written to address a current topic of debate in higher education -- the values of specific disciplines. Most specifically, she responds to the belief that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields are more valuable than the humanities and social sciences because they generate more external research funding, donations, and municipal investment.
