All Georgia Tech Students, Faculty, and Staff are invited to participate in the first annual Energy Expo on April 3-4, 2014. The Energy Expo will include a screening of the nuclear documentary Pandora’s Promise, keynote speakers, panel discussions, a poster and demonstration session, and a networking reception. The demo session will be focused on showcasing the energy research happening across disciplines here at Tech.

A discussion on nuclear power and its impact on the current and future energy portfolio. What are the common biases against nuclear power and how did the documentary address these? Were there any major issues about safety or security that were omitted from the film? What research and innovations are the next step to creating a more secure energy situation in the US and how can the Southeast impact this progress?

Public Policy Panel: Hosted by Marilyn Brown
Energy Options for the Future, an economics and policy panel, will focus on the South’s current energy profile, it’s future based on current trends, and possibilities to improve the outlook for the future. How can the South achieve ambitious energy goals, and what decisions can take us there? What support and opposition will the transition to a future energy profile look like? How will the decisions made in the South impact the energy industry across the nation?

Georgia Tech has a history of leading innovations, especially in the energy space. What are some important contributions that Georgia Tech has made, and what are current projects now that are likely to open doors for a brighter and cleaner future?
