Model UN Team Nationally Ranked for First Time
Primary tabs
For the first time since its inception, the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs-sponsored Georgia Tech National Model United Nations Team (GTNMUN) ranked in the top 75 North American teams according to Best Delegate in their “Fall 2013 North American College Rankings.” During the fall semester GTNMUN competed in the Boston Area MUN VI conference (BarMUN) hosted by Boston University where they were awarded one Honorable Mention and three Oral Recommendations.
GTNMUN is unique among MUN teams due to the diverse makeup of its members. With traditional members on the team representing various majors within the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, such as History, Technology & Society, Economics, and Public Policy, it is the collaboration with other students of Georgia Tech that makes the team significantly different from the rest. Computer Science, Nuclear Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Chemical Engineering are few of the other majors building and advancing the team in ideology, experience, and proficiency.
GTNMUN is excited to start the Spring 2014 semester by competing in three conferences. The team will travel to Chapel Hill, NC for UNC-MUNC V hosted by the University of North Carolina and to St. Louis, MO for MMUN LIV. GTNMUN will close the season locally at MUNE II hosted by Emory University.
