Working with First-Year Students
Ann Gerondelis, School of Architecture
As teachers, we want to reach as many of our learners as possible. However, this can be particularly daunting in some class contexts. Of the challenges most often noted by faculty in this regard are engaging students in large classes and engaging first year students, who are just beginning the transition to college from high school. Doug Flamming, winner of Georgia Tech's prestigious Geoffrey Eichholz Teaching Award, will lead us in a conversation about his lessons learned in engaging students in large classes. Ann Gerondelis, Director of Architectures' groundbreaking Common First Year, will lead us in a conversation about working with first year students.
