Town Hall on Definition of 'Faculty'

Based on the Provost's Task Force Study, the Subcommittee on Faculty Definition has been charged by the Executive Board to “develop and refine a plan for revised definition of faculty categories for Georgia Tech."

"General faculty" status is being removed and each job title will be designated as either "academic faculty," "research faculty," or "staff."  The purpose of the town hall meetings is to provide an opportunity to explain and discuss the subcommittee recommendations for faculty and staff designations and the corresponding changes needed in the arrangements for faculty governance.

Please join us for either of these Town Hall meetings:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 6, 3 p.m., Room 102, Clough Commons
  • Thursday, Nov. 14, 11 a.m., Room 102, Clough Commons
