Walkability a large component of Professor Dunham-Jones' retrofitted America

External News Details

Researchers have found that neighborhoods with good walkability have fared better in the recovering housing and commercial property markets. This fact comes as no surprise to Ellen Dunham-Jones, a Professor of architecture and urban design at Georgia Tech and author of Retrofitting Suburbia: Urban Design Solutions for Redesigning Suburbs. "We've spent the past 60 years building the post-World War II suburbs," said Dunham-Jones. "I think the big design and development project for the next 50 to 60 years will be retrofitting them."
