Dr. Keith Jennings is a Senior Associate of NDI (National Democratic Institute for International Affairs), and he is the Southern and Eastern Africa Regional Director. In this position, he is the primary coordinator for NDI’s work in a 22 country region which stretches from Sudan to Angola and includes the Horn of Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa sub-regions.  Keith has responsibility for all aspects of NDI’s work in the region and is the point of contact for NDI staff, funders, high-level officials, representatives to the African Union, the East Africa Legislative Assembly, Southern Africa Development Council Parliamentary Forum, United States Congress, U.S. State Department and a range of domestic and international Think Tanks leaders. He received the PhD in Political Science from Atlanta University, where he specialized in international relations, political economy, comparative politics and African politics. Prior to his current portfolio of responsibilities in Africa, he worked extensively in Northern Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean and Southeast Asia. Keith served as an adjunct professor at The American University School of International Service and the Morehouse School of Medicine, Division of Public Health.  He has published and written extensively on contemporary politics in Africa.
