International Interns Cheer on the Braves @GT at the Braves Night

Primary tabs

On Thursday June 20th International Student and Scholar Services hosted a group of International Student Interns for a night of Atlanta Braves Baseball.  The evening began with a Baseball clinic held on campus to introduce America’s pastime to the Interns.   During the clinic the Interns learned about the Tomahawk Chop, The 7th inning stretch, they practiced “Take me out to the ballgame”, and watched some baseball bloopers.  It was then time to hit the Braves Shuttle and off to the game at Turner Field.

The Interns filed into the stadium to receive their BJ Upton Bobblehead and made their way around the many concessions to find themselves in the upperdeck, ready for the first pitch.  The Atlanta Braves were taking on the New York Mets in a battle of defense as neither team was having much luck getting runs in.  The Interns thoroughly enjoyed the people watching as well as the entertainment that can only be found at Turner Field. In the end the Braves fell to the Mets but it was a fun and exciting night filled with memories of cotton candy, chili cheese dogs, homeruns and lots of Tomahawk Chopping!
