For some students, the transition from first to second year can be just as challenging as stepping foot onto campus as a freshman. The Office of New Student & Sophomore Programs offers a variety of programs and services to help with this transition.  Sophomore Programs focuses on providing guidance for ongoing success, offering opportunities for student leadership and involvement, and keeping students informed about campus activities. Signature programs include:

Sophomore Summit, a two-day retreat where students develop educational goals and interact with faculty, staff, and fellow classmates.

Sophomore Career Experience, a cohort-based program to provide second-year students with unique access to workshops, speakers, and mentors in their field of study.

Sophomore Leadership Council, an organization for sophomores who strive to enhance the second-year experience by providing support and direction for students through active leadership.

Sophomore Week, a weeklong series of programs during Welcome Home Month to help second-year students successfully jump-start their sophomore year.

Sophomore Trip, an annual excursion in early fall semester to give students an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and build new friendships in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
