The Telly Awards has named the Georgia Tech Cable Network (GTCN) as a Silver winner in the 34th Annual Telly Awards for their animated open titled The Club.
With nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, GTCN is honored for receiving this award.
GTCN student assistant Austin Gasaway worked on merging animation and a storyline with staff member Scott Sergent. The animated open features many of the unique, fun and exciting Georgia Tech campus clubs. Viewers watch as the show's host takes them on a journey across campus to a special/secret studio where they learn how clubs can impact their lives.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
A prestigious judging panel of more than 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition. This year’s winners include entries from Clinique, Starbucks and Mattel Entertainment.
“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. “GTCN’saccomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great film and video production.”
“It’s an exciting moment for GTCN and it’s such a privilege to work with such a talented group of people who strive for creative excellence year after year,” said Carol Pulliam, GTCN Manager.
The Georgia Tech Cable Network is a Direct Broadcast Satellite system. GTCN delivers a selection of networks customized for the Georgia Tech campus that not only fulfills GT residents’ desire for quality entertainment, but also serves as an important learning laboratory for students interested in digital production.
