A Grammy for Laura Inman

Primary tabs

Laura Inman has only been Assistant Professor in Georgia Tech's School of Music since the fall of 2012, but her work is already generating major international awards. This year, an album she contributed to, Life & Breath - Choral Works By René Clausen, was showered with Grammy awards, including one for Best Choral Performance. Additionally, the album won Best Engineered Classical Album (with engineering and mastering by Tom Caulfield, John Newton and Mark Donahue). Blanton Alspaugh, who produced the album, also won an award for Best Producer of the Year in the classical category.

The album was generating buzz even before the award ceremony, and Prof. Inman was interviewed by the Georgia Tech Technique in early February. Inman, who appeared as part of the group Kansas City Choral (the main vocalists on the album), also contributed a solo performance to the album.
