Title:
The Spring 2013 Convergence Innovation Competition and GT Journey Project Updates

Abstract:
This talk will cover two topics from GT-RNOC and IPaT. The first will be an overview of the Spring 2013 Convergence Innovation Competition, including discussion of the categories, the competition timeline, submissions and judging criteria, as well as advice on how to leverage the CIC for courses you might be taking or teaching. The CIC is in its 7th year and is open to all Georgia Tech students. The 2013 CIC categories are Connected Home, Connected Life, Connected Transportation, and Future Networks with sponsors including AT&T, Cisco, Hitachi, Panasonic, and GM. The CIC is an significant opportunity for all Georgia Tech students to apply their academic and research activities to portfolio building and commercialization focused results.

The GT Journey project is an opportunity for all members of the Georgia Tech community to collaborate on applications and solutions that benefit the campus. GT Journey is a virtual focal point for students, faculty, and staff to develop ideas and solutions, find technical support and resources, advertise and access campus data, and share applications and experiences. In GT Journey we are providing access to resources and campus expertise in a variety of areas that should be of great interest and value to the GVU community. We will outline these opportunities and brainstorm more during this talk
