The FCC as Seen from the Inside

Primary tabs

Join Federal Communication Commission (FCC) insider Dr. Mike Marcus as he examines the nature of the agency as it struggles to keep up with a growing and dynamic industry.

The FCC greatly impacts the telecommunications industry in both technical and nontechnical regulation. Working under a 1934 law with a few amendments and the 1946 Administrative Procedures Act for procedural guidance, how does FCC cope with these demands in an increasing polarized Washington? Marcus will also compare FCC to its British counterpart Ofcom, created a few years ago, but with a very different structure.

Dr. Marcus is speaking on Monday, October 22, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Centergy Room 5126. The talk is part of the Policy@Tech Speakers Series, sponsoring with the Center for Advanced Communications Policy.
