New Day Care Facility to Open this Fall

Primary tabs

There is good news for faculty, staff and students in need of child care. Beginning this fall, there will be a new on-campus option that more than doubles our current capacity.

The Children’s Campus @ Georgia Tech will offer early care and educational programming to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The new facility will complement the child care services offered by the other on-campus day care, R. Kirk Landon Learning Center.

"Even though we remain in an economically challenging environment, we're continuously working to find ways to make Georgia Tech a great place to work," said President G. P. "Bud" Peterson. “Offering additional on-campus child care and learning options for Georgia Tech faculty, staff and students is another step towards that goal."

The Children’s Campus will be located at 251 Tenth St., Building F, in the Tenth and Home family housing complex. The facility will be managed by Bright Horizons Family Solutions, which also manages the Landon Learning Center.

“In the planning and design phase of our graduate and family housing complex, we set aside space to serve our community’s child care needs,” said Steve Swant, executive vice president for Administration and Finance. “Through careful budget planning and prioritization, we’re pleased to be able to offer this additional facility as an option for Tech’s faculty, staff and students.”

Those who are currently on the wait list for the existing campus day care will be given first priority for enrollment at The Children’s Campus.

Remaining openings will be filled on a first-come, first-enrolled basis. To apply for an opening, submit an Enrollment Interest Form, which includes your GTID number, and return it to the Landon Learning Center at 1015 Tumlin St.
