Course Design Studio: July 16--July 20
Primary tabs
Do you wish that you could substantially redesign one of your courses--but it's difficult to find the time to do so?
With the close of the spring semester, you may be thinking that you'd like to do something different the next time you teach a particular course. You have some ideas--yet finding the time to devise a plan and turn it into reality seems problematic. Your "to-do" list for the summer is already long.
Instead of struggling on your own, how about joining forces with your peers for a one-week Course Design Studio?
The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) will offer a Course Design Studio this summer from July 16 to July 20, 2012.
The studio will meet on campus daily for one week from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Each morning, CETL will facilitate a discussion on best practices in course design with an emphasis on areas of particular interest to the participants. Faculty will then devote time each afternoon to their own course redesigns, working individually to strengthen what they offer. Participants will report back on their progress the next morning and will receive peer feedback from each other.
The goal is to make significant progress in redesigning a course in one week. The studio will provide a collaborative environment where you can draw on your peers’ strengths and CETL expertise as you focus on improving your course.
All full-time faculty are encouraged to apply. Participants must be committed to teach the redesigned course in Fall 2012 and have the support of their school/department chairs.
