Registration for Summer 2012 Courses

Balance your schedule this summer with courses in the College of Architecture. Offerings include design sketching, 3D modeling, geographic information systems, real estate development, and many more. Most courses will be open to all Georgia Tech students.

Georgia Tech alumni, local practitioners, and others can apply online for the opportunity to take summer courses as a Special/Transient (non-degree seeking) student. Note the application deadline is April 1. See below for frequently asked questions.

Phase I Registration Ends April 27.

Sections with low enrollment at the end of Phase I registration (April 27) may be discontinued.

Can I register for a summer course if I’m not a Tech student?

How do I apply?

When is the application deadline for special students?

  • Special/Transient (non-degree seeking) students must apply for Summer admission by April 1, 2012.

What is the application fee?

  • The application fee to apply as a Special/Transient (non-degree seeking) student is $65.

What is the tuition for a special student?

  • Tuition rates are at: http://www.bursar.gatech.edu/tuiandfee.php. Special/Transient (non-degree seeking) students pay the normal graduate or undergraduate rate depending on whether the course is 1000-4000 (undergraduate) or 6000-9000 (graduate). Special/Transient (non-degree seeking) students are not subject to differential tuition and pay the general graduate student rate.

Are AIA Continuing Education credits available?

  • AIA Credit is not available in conjunction with coursework, however, the College of Architecture/School of Architecture does offer lectures and symposia that may be used for AIA credit for professionals.  Please visit the events page of our website for upcoming opportunities.

Can I register for a summer course if I’m not a Tech student?

  • Yes, you would apply as a:
    1. SPECIAL NON-DEGREE SEEKING – to apply as a non-degree seeking student you will need to complete the online application for graduate admissions.  Once inside of the application you will be able to choose Special Non-Degree Seeking status.
    2. To Apply Go To:  www.grad.gatech.edu  and follow the links for “Apply to Georgia Tech”
