Get the Words Right: How to Get Attention, Get Understood and Get a Response with Everything You Write

Primary tabs

The Georgia Tech Business Network hosts this fast-paced workshop presented by John Reed, managing partner at West Reed, in which you’ll learn best practices that professional communicators use to get their messages across. Master the three principles of The Lingo Method™ and you’ll transform all your written communications – from emails, letters, and reports to presentations and proposals.

You’ll also learn all kinds of helpful tips and tools, such as:

  • Using Morse Code rhythms to make your writing more readable
  • Organizing your thoughts the way you clean out a closet
  • Walking the tightrope between formal and familiar
  • The 24 most important hours of your document’s life
  • Knowing which grammar rules really do matter
  • Why the look of the page is as important as the words on it
  • The reason ads always ask you to “call today to find out more”

With over 25 years of experience in the ad industry, John has helped solve branding and marketing communications challenges for numerous organizations – ranging from startups to Fortune 500s. He began his career as a copywriter in a British ad agency and went on to work for leading agencies here in the U.S. as a copywriter and then creative director before launching West Reed, a brand consulting firm. John has taught at one of the South’s leading advertising schools and spoken on business communications for various organizations in the U.S. and abroad.

Cost is $20, including appetizers and drinks. Register online to attend.
