Mercury Help: Navigating the Mercury System Primary tabs

Primary tabs

On the Mercury homepage (hg.gatech.edu), you’ll see the content section, which displays all published content such as news articles or events. On the right, you'll see a toolbar with options to create content items (marked in gold) or feeds (marked in blue).

Note that there are two different options for creating a news item. “Create news” is for creating a piece of content, and “create external news” is for bringing in a news article from an external source, such as linking a New York Times article. Please note that this means any source external to Mercury, not external to Georgia Tech; for example, if you want to add an article that is currently on a Georgia Tech site, but was not created in Mercury, you should still use the “create external news” option.

To create a Mercury item, begin by creating the necessary media, such as the related images or video. Then, when you create the news item, you can pull in the media.
