"Polaron transport in organic crystals"

Organic semiconductors often display very different charge-transport properties compared to traditional inorganic semiconductors. Despite many recent interesting experiments, the theoretical understanding and description of charge transport in organic crystals remains incomplete.
Traditional concepts like band transport might not be applicable directly to organic crystals, and polaron transport theories are considered necessary.

In my talk I will discuss polaron transport in organic molecular crystals and its relation to the concept of band transport. Based upon a recent theory, both transport concepts are merged in a natural way. This allows for a unified description of the temperature-dependent mobility and the transition from coherent band transport to incoherent hopping for small and large polarons.
