Mostafa El-Sayed Bestowed Honor from the Chinese Chemical Society

Primary tabs

On September 11, 2009 Prof. Mostafa El-Sayed received an email from his colleague in China, Dr. Zhongqun Tian with some very good news! Dr. Tian had been informed by Dr. Can Zhang, the officer in charge of international affairs of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS), that Prof. El-Sayed had been elected by the CCS Standing Committee and awarded an Honorary Fellow.

An Honorary Fellow is the highest honor that CCS can bestow on an individual and it is only conferred on eminent chemists who have made significant contributions to the advancement of chemistry. It is only been awarded to 100 individuals worldwide. Prof. El-Sayed is in the first group (the first eight foreign chemists) to receive this award.

The CCS President, Prof. Chun-Li Bai, would like to present the certificate of the CCS Honorary Fellow in China in the near future. This presentation is a big event for CCS.

Congratulations, Mostafa!
