2010 Graduate Awards Symposium & Homecoming

The 2010 Chemistry and Biochemistry Graduate Student Research Symposium and Homecoming Events were held on October 8-9, 2010. The symposium included six excellent presentations by senior graduate students who were finalists for the graduate student research awards.

Awards were presented to the following:

First Place:Edward Hohenstein (Sherrill group)

Second Place:Anthony Baldridge (Tolbert group)

Third Place:Kathy Woody (Collard group), Chun-Wan Yen (El-Sayed group), Adam Offenbacher (Barry group)

Runner-up:
Glenn Harris (Fernandez group)

Best Second Year Seminar Award: True Merrill

Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Awards:
Nikki Burns, Lee Goetz, Matthew Kennedy, Lisa Vaughan

A reception following the symposium was held in the atrium of the Molecular Science and Engineering building for symposium attendees and to kick-off homecoming festivities. A tailgating event, sponsored by the Chemistry Graduate Student Forum, was held on Saturday for students, faculty, alumni and friends.
