Hi-Tech, Lo-Fi

Georgia Tech’s contemporary chamber music ensemble-in-residence, Sonic Generator, features music by Daniel Wohl, Tristan Perich, Ronan Shai, Michel van der Aa and Thierry de Mey in a free performance in partnership with the Woodruff Arts Center. The concert showcases innovative contemporary music that uses a variety of technologies to create a “lo-fi” sound.

Tristan Perich: Momentary Expanse for vibraphone and 1-bit music

Tristan Perich: Woven for clarinet, violin, cello, vibraphone, and piano with sequenced amplification

Ronen Shai: Concerto for Piccolo and Gameboy

Michel Van der Aa: Memo for violin and portable cassette recorder

Thierry de Mey: Table Music

Sonic Generator is the contemporary music ensemble-in-residence at Georgia Tech dedicated to using technology to transform the ways in which we compose, perform, and listen to music.

Presented by the Georgia Tech School of Music and Center for Music Technology in partnership with the Woodruff Arts CenterGeorgia Tech GVU Center, and Georgia Tech College of Architecture.
