Collaborative Symposium on Growth & Design

The Center for Quality Growth and Regional Development is co-sponsoring a Collaborative Symposium on Growth & Design with the Georgia Planning Association, the Georgia Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Atlanta Chapter of American Institute of Architects, the Congress for the New Urbanism - Atlanta, and the Livable Communities Coalition on Thursday, March 8.

The symposium will include expert panels, a keynote lunch, an interactive discussion and charrette, and a reception. One panel will feature a retrospective from current and former Atlanta planning commissioners. The second panel will look forward with Kevin Cantley, president of Cooper Carry, a multi-disciplinary design firm; Pam Sessions, president of Hedgewood Properties, a homebuilder and community developer; Jack Crowley, former Dean of UGA School of Environmental Design and also a former planning director and DOT Commissioner; and Jim Durrett, executive director of the Livable Communities Coalition. The keynote lunch will be with John Fregonese, a renowned, visionary planner from Fregonese Calthorpe Associates.

This one-day symposium is a special component of the Georgia Planning Association's 2007 Spring Conference.
