Cool Insights: Beyond Current Perishable Logistics Strategies and Processes

In the October 2011 issue of Food Logistics, Nick Pacitti, a lecturer at the Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistics Institute and a partner with Sterling Solutions, authored the seventh installment for the Cool Insights column, titled “Beyond Current Perishable Logistics Strategies and Processes.” In the article, Pacitti discusses the innovative logistics strategies being used in the industry to create an efficient perishable supply chain and transportation network, while also being more socially responsible. 

Previous installments of the Cool Insights column:

Food Logistics, September 2011:  Alejandro MacCawley, ISyE PhD student and research associate for the Georgia Tech Integrated Food Chain Center, authored the sixth installment for the Cool Insights column, titled “What You Produce… is What Your Consumer Gets?” 

Food Logistics, August 2011:  Dr. Dario Solis, managing director of the Georgia Tech Panama Logistics Innovation & Research Center, authored the fifth installment for the Cool Insights column, titled “A New Cold Chain for Panama.”

To celebrate the opening of the Georgia Tech Supply Chain & Logistic Institute’s (SCL) Integrated Food Chain Center (IFC), Food Logistics Magazine initiated a new column titled Cool Insights.  The column, which began with the April / May 2010 issue, has exclusively featured thoughts from the faculty, staff, and partners of the IFC on various aspects of food chain.
