Are You Prepared For a Disaster?

Primary tabs

This September will mark the ten year anniversary of 9/11; we will remember those lost, honor our first responders, and renew our commitment to prepare and plan for emergencies. The Georgia Tech Police Department Office of Emergency Preparedness is joining the Ready Campaign, founded after 9/11 to increase preparedness throughout all communities in the U.S., and taking an active role in helping Georgia Tech prepare for emergencies.

There are many things that students, faculty and staff can do to prepare themselves:

  • Get a kit. Assemble any supplies, such as basic necessities, important documents and medications ahead of time.

As part of the National Preparedness Campaign, the Office of Emergency Preparedness will be hosting classes, sponsoring information sessions and distributing preparedness tips across campus. Visit www.emergencypreparedness.gatech.edu for additional information about the campaign and links to resources. You can also follow us on Facebook and Twitter for weekly updates, tips and tricks.

Events this week:

  • September 1, 11 am – GTENS test.
