MathWorks and PACE are partnering to offer a hands-on parallel computing workshop, taught by a MathWorks engineer, to PACE users and other members of the Georgia Tech community.

Part I: Writing parallel MATLAB code
Topics covered will include how to parallelize MATLAB code with the Parallel Computing Toolbox, how to run MATLAB code on PACE via OnDemand, how to leverage a GPU in MATLAB.

Part II: Scaling MATLAB with distributed jobs on PACE clusters
Topics covered will include how to run parallel MATLAB code on PACE via OnDemand and in batch jobs and how to extend parallelization using MATLAB Parallel Server for distributed programming across multiple nodes on PACE clusters.

In both sessions, you will also learn how to take advantage of PACE resources, which are available to all researchers at Georgia Tech (including a free tier available at no cost), to scale your MATLAB computations.

Who should attend?

Students, post docs and faculty at Georgia Tech that want to use parallel and GPU computing in MATLAB and scale their computations to take advantage of PACE resources.

Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of MATLAB
  • You will need the GlobalProtect VPN client. You do NOT need to be a PACE user, and all participants will receive access to PACE's Instructional Cluster (ICE) for hands-on activities.
  • Please bring a laptop to the workshop for the in-person session.

Please contact PACE at pace-support@oit.gatech.edu with any questions.
