A Mother of a Revolution: Honoring Queer Identities through Music

Join the LGBTQIA Resource Center and the School of Music for a candid conversation with Composer, Arranger, and Educator, Omar Thomas on April 2 from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. in the Exhibition Hall! Student leader Dakota Basista will guide the conversation, discussing the impact of Omar's orchestral composition "A Mother of a Revolution."This piece is a celebration of the bravery of trans women, and in particular, Marsha "Pay It No Mind" Johnson. The two will also delve into queer representation in music. 

This is a hybrid event and everyone is welcome to attend. Join us in person in the Sweet Auburn room in the Exhibition Hall or virtually on Zoom.
