Primary tabs

Date: Monday, March 25, 2024

Time: 12:30pm-1:20pm

Location: Van Leer, C240

Randy Poliner, President of Antares Capital Corporation and ECE graduate, will give an overview of his journey from engineering, through becoming an entrepreneur, to running a venture capital firm, highlighting key decision points and what were probably mistakes or, more euphemistically, “learning opportunities” along the way. He will also weave in some advice for entrepreneurially minded people as to how to approach venture capital firms when seeking financing.

Poliner is President of Antares Capital Corporation, a private venture capital firm investing equity capital in expansion stage companies. Randy was a founder/CEO of two venture-backed firms, one in technology and the other in information services, both with successful exits. He led a publicly held turnaround and eventual sale of that firm to a NYSE company. He also served as CEO of two of Antares Capital portfolio companies with eventual and successful exits, one to a public Japanese conglomerate and the second to another privately held firm.

Poliner earned a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
