Abstract:
In today’s competitive global economy, how does a business stand out to become the supplier of choice? It is no longer a question of if your business will be attacked by cyber criminals, but when – placing all of your contracts and clients at risk. Data shows that cybersecurity threats are the #1 concern for businesses in 2024. In addition, manufacturing is considered a critical infrastructure and key to our nation's continued security. Learn more about safely implementing new technology, put policies and procedures in place to protect your data and equipment, and increase your resiliency against cyber-attacks. In addition to ensuring basic cyber practices, manufacturers seeking defense contracts must also satisfy DoD cyber requirements for CMMC 2.0. Cybersecurity is no longer simply beneficial but a prerequisite for continuing to do business. 
 

Bio: Cassia Baker , Technology Project Manager - Cybersecurity, Georgia Tech.  Baker works with the Georgia Manufacturing Extension Partnership (GaMEP) at Georgia Tech. Her primary focus is supporting manufacturers to improve their cyber hygiene and work toward DoD CMMC 2.0 requirements. Cassia is a project management professional with over 8 years’ experience directing complex programs. Her background includes experience with the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s Center of Innovation for Aerospace (GDEcD COIA). At GDEcD, she served as Project Manager for the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation (OLDCC) grant initiatives. Her work centered on the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), impacting a $7.2B defense sector in Georgia. Cassia has also serves on the Georgia Defense Industrial Base Task Force. The Task Force was developed as a collaboration between state and industry partners to support the Georgia defense industrial base on their road to CMMC requirements and basic cyber hygiene.
