Warren Goetzel C21U New Director of External and Faculty Engagement

Dr. Steve Harmon, executive director of Georgia Tech Center for 21st Century Universities (C21U), appointed Dr. Warren Goetzel as the new director of External and Faculty Engagement, effective December 1.

Dr. Goetzel has previously collaborated with C21U on several digital learning initiatives, including successfully implementing the Canvas Learning Management System and the Educational Technologies Steering Committee. He also holds the director of Academic Technology and Engagement position at Georgia Tech’s Office of Information Technology (OIT). He joined Tech in 2017 as the founding senior manager of the OIT Digital Learning Team.

“We are excited to enhance our collaboration with the Georgia Tech community through our extended partnership with Dr. Goetzel,” said Harmon. “His primary role will involve the development and execution of strategies aimed at engaging and collaborating with faculty members across Georgia Tech on C21U’s various initiatives. He will foster relationships with internal and external partners, explore novel and innovative educational methodologies and curricular models, and further the Institute's commitment to lifetime learning initiatives.”

Dr. Goetzel holds a Ph.D. and Ed.S. in Instructional Technology and Design and master's degrees in library media technology and science education, all earned at Georgia State University. A warm welcome to C21U and the Division of Lifetime Learning!
