ECE Members Awarded for Innovative Teaching and Outstanding Leadership

Georgia Tech recognized exceptional members of its community at the annual Faculty and Staff Honors Luncheon on Friday, April 21. Among those honored were Professor Azad Naeemi and Christopher Malbrue from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).

Naeemi was awarded the Class of 1934 Outstanding Innovative Use of Education Technology Award for his development of educational tools that enhance the learning experience of students studying quantum theory and semiconductor physics/devices globally. His immersive virtual worlds and digital games have won recognition at numerous competitions and provide experiential learning for students at different proficiency levels worldwide.

Malbrue received the Spirit of Georgia Tech Award for his exceptional leadership and commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for students. As an Academic Program Manager for the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program, Malbrue consistently goes above and beyond to serve the institute and its community by taking on additional work, improving processes, and serving as a mentor to both students and faculty.

These outstanding members of the ECE community have contributed significantly to the advancement of education and the well-being of students and faculty, making Georgia Tech a better place to work and learn.
