Seminar Title: Recent Advances & Technology Direction on Wi-Fi
Abstract:
The last couple of years have seen significant evolution in wireless technologies. Wi-Fi is probably the posterchild of this progress, with Wi-Fi 6 introduced in 2019 supporting various features to enhance the network performance and user experience in dense deployments, and now with Wi-Fi 7 just around the corner bringing a peak data rate that exceeds 30 Gbps. These improvements are key to enable emerging applications like 4K/8K video, AR/VR, industrial Internet of things (loT), and real-time gaming. In this talk, we will not only give an overview of the recent advances on Wi-Fi, but also highlight new use cases and associated challenges that will drive the future generation of Wi-Fi technological evolution over the next decade.
